Mountain Ski Explorers: 8-Week Seasonal Sessions
Designed for skiers ages 6–12, Mountain Ski Explorers groups are formed by age, ability level, and skiing style so every child can learn and progress at the right pace. Led by experienced Snowbowl instructors, each session provides a fun, supportive, and safety-focused environment for building confidence on the mountain.
Our structured curriculum combines terrain-based learning with guided exploration of varied terrain. Participants develop skiing technique, confidence, independence, and mountain-safety awareness while making friends and enjoying more time on snow.
Programs meet for three hours each week over eight weekends, with Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon options available. A season pass or lift ticket is required and is not included with tuition.
Mountain Snowboard Explorer Beginners: 8-Week Seasonal Sessions
Mountain Snowboard Explorer Beginners is specifically designed for first-time snowboarders ages 6–12. This beginner-only program introduces new riders to snowboarding in a supportive environment where they can progress at a comfortable pace.
Using a patient, fundamentals-first approach, our Snowbowl instructors focus on stance and balance, gliding, getting up, speed control, basic edging, safe lift riding, and linking first turns. Groups are formed around rider comfort and on-snow readiness to keep learning safe, encouraging, and fun.
This program is intended for beginners who are new to snowboarding. Programs meet for three hours each week over eight weekends, with Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon options available. A season pass or lift ticket is required and is not included with tuition.

Ski Explorer programs are available for skiers of all ability levels. Snowboard Explorer Beginners is designed for first-time snowboarders ages 6–12. All Explorer sessions meet for three hours per week for eight weeks. A season pass or lift ticket is required and is not included.
Please note: Participants are grouped by age and ability. Instructors may adjust placements based on progress, comfort level, group balance, or safety considerations. Snowbowl instructors and supervisors have final discretion in all placement decisions.
Explorers FAQ
How old must my child be to qualify for the program?
For the 6/7 program children must be at least 6 years old by 12/1/25
For the 8/9 program children must be at least 8 years old by 12/1/25
For the 10/12 program children must be at least 10 years old by 12/1/25
Is a day pass or season pass included with the program?
There are no passes included with this program. Kids joining the program should purchase a season pass. Visit our pass page to learn more about our season pass options.
Is rental equipment included with this program?
No equipment is provided for this program. Your child should bring their own gear whether it is personally owned, leased for the season or rented by the day. Additional information about rentals and seasonal leases at the Snowbowl can be found on our rental shop page.
What is the cancellation / make-up policy?

Can I sign my child up for more than one session?
Absolutely! You can sign your child up for a morning, an afternoon, a full day or a full weekend! Please note that you must register for each session separately.
